This multifunctional venue shines through its varied menu focus, offering everything from classic fish & chips to refined steak dishes, alongside a well-curated selection of drinks that includes craft ciders, Guinness, and inventive spritzers.
The culinary experience here centers around hearty British classics with a contemporary twist. For afternoon visitors or lighter appetites, the cafe-style offerings—like the Merset Brie Cobb or the Fish Finger Cobb—are served on fresh, fluffy bread that satisfies with every bite. The menu also caters thoughtfully to a variety of tastes and diets, featuring vegan options that have garnered praise for being just as robust and flavorful as their traditional counterparts.

In all, The Black Rabbit captures the essence of a quintessential English pub-meets-modern restaurant with a heart—rich in flavors, friendly faces, and memories waiting to be made.
Stopped in for a late Sunday lunch. It was really busy but our server India was still incredibly helpful and attentive. Food as fantastic and they had a great vegan option.
Gorgeous location along the river. Nice outdoor seating under the roof overhang or next to the river. There is plenty of inside seating as well. We recommend having a reservation as itvwas packed on a Sunday. It’s about a mile and a half walk along a beautiful tree lined path from Aurendel castle. SERVICE was very friendly. Food was just so so. Although the roast beef was pinkish. It was a bit tough. The creamed cauliflower was very tasty.
Lovely meeting place, great views. I didn't get to try the good as the 1st item was out of stock and my 2nd choice was a sandwich which they refused to serve after 3pm...
Loved our visit to the Black Rabbit! We had such a great time at The Black Rabbit. The food was amazing, everything we ordered was spot on, and the brownie was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. The nourish bowl was great and the harissa chicken. The service really was brilliant, quick and efficient. Everyone was super friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Multiple staff wished my friend a happy birthday [as per my request because she hates that], they all came one by one throughout the meal and it was so funny. The location is just stunning. It’s just a lovely place all around. We’ll definitely be back, and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone in the area.
Went with my wife and friends there for a Sunday roast. I had made a reservation ahead for 2.45, but we actually got there 20 minutes earlier. Nonetheless, the team was very happy to offer us a table that had just become available. As we sat at the table, Martha - our host, brought us the food and drinks menu. We went with 2 chicken roasts, 1 beef roast and 1 pork roast as well as a side of cauliflower cheese. As for drinks, we got a pint of peach beer, berry refresher, a pint of lemonade and a pint of soda & lime. The two chicken roasts was the first to come, within 15 minutes, however my partner and I requested for the chicken to be roasted a bit more so that the skin is crunchy. The host was respectful of our request and took the roast back to the kitchen for further cooking. Whilst that was being done, the other roasts came. After setting them on the table, we were asked if we needed any more sauces, especially gravy, to which we said yes. The two chicken roasts then came out and then the extra gravy was brought at no extra charge. We had started to eat and Martha came to check in on us. The food tasted very good, however we were still waiting for the drinks to come and for the side of cauliflower cheese. She was kind enough to go and check on both of them. A couple of minutes later, we had everything we needed and began to feast. We chose a table right by the door as it was quite hot. The downside to that was a large group of bikers came to the pub, all of them on Harley Davidsons which were very loud. It must've been 20-30 of them cause they kept coming and coming. Martha checked back on us again and I requested another pint of lime & soda, which was promptly brought to the table. Once we finished our food, all the plates were taken away and dessert menus brought for each of us, however we decided against. We really liked the food and the service. The only downside was the loud noise made by the Harleys, but that is out of the pub's control. Overall a very nice experience and we would happily recommend the pub to anyone for good food and relaxed atmosphere.
Great menu with delicious food with an excellent location. Unfortunately, the service let the experience down a little. Would still come again.
Delicious lunch with a view!. Very attentive and friendly service. Food arrived very quickly, good portions and home made deserts highly recommended. Kids and pets friendly.
This is our favourite lunch stop on route to the Isle of Wight. Great location, fine food and drinks, with a lovely welcome and beautiful scenery. Very dog friendly
